World Robofest 2008 will be held during the Lawrence Tech 75th anniversary week.

Notes to Team Coaches and Teams
- Robofest coach account has been browse-only (no modification) after regional contests. You may not add new team members.
Editing team information is only allowed for correction of misspelled names and updated team/robot pictures.
If you need to change names or upload team photos, please send emails to
Jeff Sparing at [email protected] by April 13.
- Bring completed the
Consent and Media Release Forms for all participants, including
team coaches
.
(all the teams must re-submit)- Exhibition teams may need poster boards to introduce the robotics project.
Other competition teams do not need poster boards.
- $40 check-in fee per team. (DADA/CFSEM sponsored Sumo teams from
Detroit and Highland Park do not need to pay this check-in fee.) If your
team has not paid the registration fee, the fee must be paid when
checking-in. We accept only cash or check made out to LTU/Robofest.
- Please ensure the names and information on the
registration system are correct. We are having individualized trophies made
for each World Championship participant. So be sure to RSVP at
[email protected] your attendance
as individual trophies will only be made for those who RSVP. Deadline for
RSVP for trophy is April 21 at noon, EDT.
- It is highly recommended to bring your own extension cords and power strips for
your laptops and battery chargers.
Comments on Written Exam
- Game and Exhibition teams need to take the written exam
- Written Test will be more difficult
More on RoboSaver Games
- There will be 4 or 5 official playing fields. The dimension of the track
and/or black line lengths
may be different from that of regional qualifiers.
- There will be 4 practice game tracks.
- Locations of balls may be more unknown.

There will no black board for teams to use to block light.
- Judge's decision is final.
- 1st place team for each division will
demonstrate their robots during the award ceremony.
Comments on Exhibition Teams
- Multiple groups of
judges will visit your team table during the official exhibition
times (morning: 10am ~ Noon, afternoon: 1pm ~ 3pm); whenever they come teams
must do the 4 minute presentation that includes team and member introduction
and demonstration. Teams must be at the table during the official exhibition
times.
- As in the Robofest Top level rule, there will be silent judges.
Exhibition teams must demonstrate and explain their projects to the visitors
during those official times.
- Top team for each age division will be
presenting again at the gym during the award ceremony

Notes to Teams that need to stay a night in Southfield, Michigan
- We have reserved block of rooms at a hotel that is adjacent to our campus; it is a
Comfort Suites, Southfield, MI. The special room rate only for LTU
Robofest guests is $75 a night;
Robofest will pay for one night's hotel accommodation for out-of-state or international teams
up to 3 rooms per team.
You are responsible for making your own room reservation

Please ask for the LTU Robofest room rate, $75. The closest airport for you to fly in would be Detroit Metro
Airport (DTW). We are approximately 20 miles from the airport. (We do
not have a preferred air fare with any vendor.) You may want to
rent a car for ease in getting to and from the airport and to and
from campus. The hotel is very close, but you will have robots to
carry and you never know about the weather in April, it may be
rainy.
- Afternoon campus tour (starts in the Buell Management Build Atrium at
3:30pm) and a welcome dinner (5:30pm in the LTU Cafe in the Buell Management
Bld) is being planned on Friday, April 25th for teams outside Michigan.
