(1) Robofest 2005 has officially Kicked-Off!!

Robofest 2005 is now open for Team Registrations on-line at www.robofest.net.   Please take a moment to read the Robofest 2005 Rules and Registration Instructions prior to registering. 

Robofest 2005 will feature over 13 contest locations around the world.  Top winners from each contest location will move on to compete during the World Robofest Championship, which will be held April 23, 2005 on the campus of Lawrence Technological University, Southfield, Michigan. 

This year�s Competition challenge is �RoboRelay.�  You can find mission details at www.robofest.net in the Official Game Rules - PDF document.You will also find RoboRelay Streaming Video that shows you the known missions for 2005.

For teams interested in participating in the Exhibition, you will find Exhibition samples under the Resources tab on our web site at http://www.robofest.net/resources.htm.We have posted several streaming videos of other exhibition competitions such as robot dancing and robots performing in costume.The Exhibition category is a great way for kids to show off their creative abilities!Any autonomous robotics project/demonstration is welcomed.

We hope you will be a part of this exciting and rewarding student robotics competition.  We hope to see you at Robofest 2005!

There will not be any changes made to the official rules document found on the Robofest site. Instead, any revisions or corrections or clarifications will be made to http://www.robofest.net/2005/faq.htm page. Therefore, all participants are strongly suggested to check out this page periodically.

 

(4) Robofest RIS RCX code workshop

Registered Robofest teams (coaches, students, and parents) are invited to attend a free RIS 2.0 RCX code workshop on Sat. Jan 29, 9am-Noon at Lawrence Tech in Michigan. We recommend bringing your RCX robot, IR tower, and a laptop. Agenda will be (1) Comparison of RCX code and RoboLab programming languages, and (2) RIS RCX code programming tutorial (3) RCX code tips for RoboRelay game. Room number will be emailed to team coaches. RoboLab workshop will be held on Sat. Feb. 5, 2005.

 

(5) Robofest Forum Site

Please check out �forum� link on www.robofest.net page.You have access to a public bulletin board to get information regarding Robofest challenges and robotics events. You may post your questions, ideas, press releases, essays, or call for discussion related to Robofest, robotics and education on the forum site any time.

This year, we created a new forum topic for students who want to join existing teams or form a new team. We have also added a topic for technical mentors who are interested in helping to mentor teams.

 

(6) Robofest 2005 Playing Fields for Sale

We are planning to provide sets of RoboRelay game playing field to teams who may be having difficulty finding all of the materials. If you would like to purchase your playing field from LTU, please contact [email protected].We will be shipping to your location or you could come to LTU to pick up.
