Dear RoboFest Friends & Family: RoboFest 2002 will be held on Sat. April 27 at Lawrence Tech University, in Southfield. The opening ceremony will begin at 10:30am. This year, 42 coaches registered 258 students. You can check out the team list and their sponsors at www.robofest.net This year’s challenge is to save Lego citizens trapped in a burning building behind a ”concrete wall.” The robots interact with each other to transfer the oxygen masks and use “robotic strength” to remove the wall that blocks the victims. Robofest also has exhibition divisons to show off student's creativity. Please check out accepted exhibitions at www.robofest.net/2002/exhibitions.htm 15 ft long autonomous blimp made by Handy Board as well as Laptop Robot Waiter will be introduced. Outside the Field house, you will be witnessing the real robot mower. Everyone is welcome to see and explore the events. Admission is free. Parking is free. Raffle prizes drawn by Robots. Arts Academy in the Woods from Warren Woods Schools will perform special dance before the award ceremony around 4:00pm. Someone said that Robofest 2002 was introduced on Channel 2 news on Tuesday 23 around 8:00 in the morning. Has anyone watched the news? Please reply this email, if you did watch it.
