Dear Robotics Friends & Family: Season's Greetings! Autonomous ROBOtics FESTival, RoboFest 2002 will be held on Sat. April 27, 2002 at Lawrence Tech U. If more than 70 teams are registered, there will be preliminary play-offs on April 20 and 21. Unique features of RoboFest are - Emphasis on learning computer technologies; - Focuses on students' learning: entire robot should be constructed and programmed by students. - Freedom of choosing programming languages: you may use any programming language such as NQC, C++, Visual Basic, or Java to program your robot. - Affordable: registration fee is free; you may reuse old kits; and it is simple and easy to build playing fields. - A personalized certificate in a frame and a medal will be given to every registered participant. - Many prizes such as book gift certificates together with trophies will be given to teams in many categories. - Various ways to participate: Competition or Exhibition RoboFest 2002 draft rules are posted at http://www.robofest.net/2002/rules.htm Happy Holidays!
